Workplace ResolutionsWith the new year, it’s a great time to make some changes in your life and at your workplace. Here’s a few ideas to get you started on a path to feeling better and being more productive at work.

Less Stress. Try to be positive. Things don’t always work out the way you expect them to. Rather than devoting your energy to thinking about all the things that have went wrong, focus on what is going good. Having a more positive attitude at work will lower your stress levels and carry over to your personal life.

Time to Exercise. This is something that makes the top of most New Year’s resolution lists. Exercise is not only a healthy choice but it will also increase your overall productivity and mood at work. Instead of spending an hour eating fast food in the employee lounge, head outside for a nice walk.

Challenge Yourself. Stop being so lazy and doing just enough to get by. Find a project that will really give you a challenge. You might knock one out of the ballpark or completely fail. Either way it will get your juices flowing and be a great learning experience for you to build on.

Stop Being A Whiner. Your co-workers don’t want to come to work everyday just to hear you complain about all your problems. This goes along with being more positive. Stop complaining about bad situations and focus on what’s positive. Your co-workers will love you for it and it will boost everybody’s morale.

Control Online Addictions. Try to remember that when you go to work, you’re supposed to be working. Cut back on all that Facebook time and focus more on the task at hand. You never know who is looking over your shoulder.

Take a break. If you’re one of those people who sit at a desk staring at a computer screen all day, get up and move around. Make it a habit this year to squeeze in a few daily breaks where you get away from the desk. When you sit back down you will find that you’re more productive and energized.

    It’s a great time to sit down and really think about what resolutions, if any, you can come up with. Some will take some work, while others can easily be worked into a schedule.

  2. New Year’s resolutions can be difficult to keep. You should always want to make sure you’re ready for some of the challenges, and stay motivated enough to keep your focus.
